New Delhi, April 23: A meet and greet programme was organised at the residence of former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. On this occasion, Telugu organisations, celebrities and journalists in Delhi congratulated Venkaiah Naidu for receiving the Padma Vibhushan. Later, Venkaiah said… “I am happy that the Centre has awarded me the Padma Vibhushan in recognition of my services. It is not good to come back into politics after serving as vice-president. That’s why he didn’t come. He made it clear that he will be with the people from now on.

He said he had discussed people’s issues and other issues with the Prime Minister yesterday as well. He said that he would not go into party politics anymore. He said he would react to normal politics. I will work more enthusiastically in the coming days. I will participate in the programmes of colleges, universities and many institutes of IIM. Everyone should be active in public life. It is patriotism that one does what they do properly,” he said.

This is a disturbing trend…

It has become a trend for leaders to switch parties. This is a disturbing trend,” he said. He can resign from his post and join any party. It is not right to criticise leaders by switching parties without resigning from their posts. He said the anti-defection law should be strengthened. What political parties can do should be given as promises in the manifesto. It’s a fact that the trees don’t have money. He is against freebies. Education and health should be given free of cost. People should also question the freebies,” he said. He urged the people to reject those who speak indecently and those who are corrupt.

Be sure to participate in voting…

“The place I give to the party will not change in my life. The abrogation of Article 370 is a great thing in my life when I was the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. Despite having a majority in the Lok Sabha, it was first introduced in the Rajya Sabha. I led the House without adjournment. The bill to abrogate Article 370 was passed democratically through peaceful deliberations. Political parties should train their members to ensure that parliament proceedings are properly held. The country is moving forward day by day.

The world is looking at India. They can’t bear it. All political parties should work towards strengthening democracy. Voters will have to verify their voter slip. If you want to vote for any party, vote for that party. All the people should participate in the voting,” Naidu said.
