On the first day of the new financial year, the domestic indices received a boost of gains. The indices which faced severe fluctuations in March, today moved in gains throughout. At one stage the Sensex touched lifetime highs. Finally ended in profit. Indices gained due to positive signs internationally and foreign investments .

The Sensex, which opened at 73,968 in the morning, touched an all-time high of 74,254 at one stage. Finally ended at 74,014 with a gain of 360 points. Further, Nifty increased by 135 points and settled at 22,462. Mid cap index and small cap index received good gains. Shares of Tata Steel, Ultratech Cement, NTPC and L&T gained heavily in Sensex. Further, the shares of Nestlé India, Bharti Airtel, Titan, Indus Ind Bank and Tech Mahindra ended in losses.
