BRS MLC Kavitha has received another big shock in the Delhi liquor case.
New Delhi: BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha is unlikely to get bail in the Delhi Liquor Scam case. Kavitha had filed a bail plea filed by a special CBI court on Rouse Avenue seeking bail for her. The court rejected it. Though separate petitions were filed in the ED and CBI cases, both were dismissed by the court. This gave Kavitha another big shock. Whereas.. The Rouse Avenue court rejected the offer despite being told that he had to take part in the election campaign. On the other hand.. In her petition, Kavitha has claimed that as a woman, she is entitled to bail under Section 45 of the PMLA. The petition has already been heard by the court. Whereas.. Kavitha was arrested by the ED on March 15 in a liquor case. She was also lodged in Tihar jail and was arrested by the CBI on April 11. Judge Kaveri Baweja had earlier reserved the verdict for May 02 after the arguments were held at the Rouse Avenue court on May 22. However, the verdict was expected on May 2.
The verdict on the bail plea in the ED case was reserved for May 06. The judge made it clear that the verdict on the bail pleas in the two cases will be pronounced on May 06. Everyone thought that if Kavitha gets bail, she will get an exemption from judicial remand. That didn’t happen. He has already applied for bail several times but the court has been rejecting it. In the meantime, his son had sought bail as he had undergone examinations, but the court had rejected it. He was now asked to participate in the election campaign but was turned down by the court.
